"I live in a rural area surrounded by many plants and wildlife and this is where I find most of my inspiration. My favorite subjects are flowers and animals (bears, bunnies, dogs, birds in particular) and I enjoy combining elements of nature with whimsy and magic in my art. I hope that my pieces will bring joy to people."
Currently employed as a graphic designer for a children’s clothing company. She uses her artistic skills designing surface patterns for their clothing, media graphics and photography.
Also with an interest in fiber arts. She enjoys the tactile satisfaction that comes with sewing, knitting, crocheting, felting and embroidery. If she is not drawing or painting she certainly has some kind of fiber-related project in her lap.
“I am a jack of all trades, I like knowing how to do many things and having many different skills. I like to be learning something new and to experiment with different mediums and crafts. I enjoy working with my hands and many different mediums because of the enjoyable tactile quality. When I am not creating something on paper I am probably knitting or sewing. Seeing something start out as just a strand of fiber then turning into some wonderful creation is so satisfying."
Current projects that she has been focused on are, working on her painting skills painting small landscapes and trees, illustrating her bear characters, knitting animal patterns by Claire Garland. She has also been learning to craft small soft sculptures and toys. Working with German Mohair and Viscose fabrics and needle felted details to create miniature versions of her friend’s dogs or working with wool felt crafting whimsical characters.
"I enjoy crafting and making art that people can really hold in their hands and small things that I can make available to people of all walks of life and economic status."
She also enjoys being outdoors, gardening, reading, and quiet walks with her beloved Beagle.
