Today I worked on a counter top/cabinets to go in the Beacon Hill kitchen. The drawers are working and I was going to put doors on the bottom, but decided to leave them open. Here are some pictures of the progress. Next I plan on making a little curtain to go around the sink and in the open bottom compartment of the cabinets. Also, planning on posting more detailed instructions and a template for the counter/cabinets.
I used a combination of foam board and bass wood. Painted with white as the base coat and used a combo of a lighter olive and darker blue green craft paint for the color. I found that using a really stiff bristle brush gave the paint a really visual grain pattern. Which gave it an old/vintage look.
