It took a little practice and some good printing tips from a friend....
Tip 1: if you are going to use screen printing ink, apply with a foam brush, works much better than a roller. The screen printing ink is really slippery and a roller doesn't work well for even coverage. The foam brush is nice too, because it holds some ink for easy re-inking.
Tip 2: put a few layers on fabric or a sheet of felt under the fabric you are printing on. The ink presses into the fabric better if its not on a super hard surface.
Tip 3: letting the ink get a little tacky before printing helps with stamp coverage as well.
Tip 4: if you use speedy cut blocki printing blocks, if helps to attach the stamp to something you can get a good grip on. I just used a piece of foam coarse to make a block and double sided tape to attach it to the back of the stamp. If you want to look a little more professional, I think some crafters wood blocks would be nice to adhere the stamp too ask well.
Here is my result that I'm going to turn into a dog bandana for the Ed beagle. I'll try to remember to post a picture on my Facebook page! He's going to look very stylish.
